This page contains documentation of communications between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and citizens groups such as the DIR Task Force and others, regarding the planned expansion (deepening and widening) of the Mobile Bay and Mobile Outer Bar Harbor shipping channel, slated to be undertaken in 2018 or thereabouts.  Below are links to the documents of these communications.

 

Many are concerned that the studies being conducted by the Corps to determine the environmental and geophysical consequences of this project do not cover necessary investigations, particularly taking into account the history of eroson and sediment starvation of Dauphin Island due to the dredging.
